How to change a tire
Here is a step-by-step guide on how to change a tire:
Prepare the vehicle: Make sure the vehicle is in a safe and level location. Turn on your hazard lights and engage the emergency brake to secure the vehicle.
Locate the jack and spare tire: Check the owner's manual to find out where the jack and spare tire are located in your vehicle.
Loosen the lug nuts: Before using the jack, loosen the lug nuts on the flat tire with a lug wrench. Do not remove them yet.
Jack up the vehicle: Position the jack securely under the designated jacking point and raise the vehicle until the flat tire is off the ground.
Remove the flat tire: Remove the lug nuts and take off the flat tire. Place it under the vehicle for safety.
Mount the spare tire: Put the spare tire on the vehicle and tighten the lug nuts as much as possible by hand.
Lower the vehicle: Carefully lower the vehicle back to the ground with the jack. Use the lug wrench to tighten the lug nuts as much as possible.
Test the spare tire: Drive slowly and carefully to the nearest tire repair shop to have the flat tire repaired or replaced.
Note: It is important to regularly check the air pressure and condition of the spare tire to ensure it is ready to use in case of an emergency. To learn how to check your air pressure click here.
