how to check the oil level of your car
Park the car on a level surface: Turn off the engine and allow it to cool for a few minutes. Make sure the car is on a level surface to get an accurate reading.
Locate the dipstick: Find the oil dipstick, which is usually marked with an oil can symbol, in the engine bay.
Remove the dipstick: Pull out the dipstick and wipe it clean with a rag.
Re-insert the dipstick: Put the dipstick back in its tube and remove it again.
Check the oil level: Look at the dipstick to determine the oil level. The oil should reach the "full" line, or somewhere between the "add" and "full" marks.
Add oil if necessary: If the oil level is low, add oil slowly through the engine oil filler cap until it reaches the correct level. Use a funnel to prevent spillage.
Replace the dipstick: Put the dipstick back in its tube and securely fasten the oil filler cap.
Note: It is important to use the correct type of oil specified in your owner's manual and to check the oil level regularly, at least once a month, to ensure the engine has enough oil and to prevent damage.
