Shit, I have an std
Whats an STD?
An STD is a “Sexually Transmitted Disease”. STDs are spread by having sex. Sex includes: Oral Sex, Anal Sex, Vaginal Sex, Gay sex, & Straight sex. All types of sex. You catch some STDs by touching someone’s genitals if they are infected. You can especially catch an STD by touching the sore of someone that is infected.
Are all STD’s the same?
Definitely not! They are caused by many different types of bacteria & viruses, and sometimes even tiny insects. There are a lot of different types of STDs. There are STDs that are pretty common, considered incurable, & often terminal; such as HIV, AIDS, & sometimes Herpes. There are also STDs that are very common, but very curable; such as Chlamydia & Gonorrhea.
It’s important to do your research and use protection because STDs can have a detrimental effect on the reproductive organs of both males & females.
What should I do?
“I just found out I have an STD, what am I supposed to do?”
Find the sexual health clinic nearest you, and make a visit as soon as you can. Be honest with your previous/future partners about an STD that has not been fully cured yet. Always strap up with an STD or without.
If Walk-ins are not available there, make an appointment for the next available slot. It is important for you to get treatment sooner than later. Don't panic! Shit happens. Literally, it is not the end of the world. Take a second to breathe and collect your thoughts. Don't beat yourself up, because it won't help you.
You have a civil obligation as a considerate person, to notify anyone that could’ve possibly infected you, or have been infected by you. Sometimes it can be awkward, but it’s worth not having it on your conscious.
The clinic that you visited for the test should also provide you with treatment, or the appropriate resources needed for treatment.
